Montrealer Buys Italian Soccer Team

Angelo Pastò acquired a minority ownership interest in Italian soccer club U.S. Campobasso 1919 through his Montreal-based company the Stanford Properties Group (“SPG”). He joins the majority owner North Sixth Group, LLC (“North Sixth Group”) led by Chairman Matt Rizzetta. Based in the Molise region of Southern Italy, Campobasso 1919 is the most successful and important club in the region. Campobasso 1919 play their home games in a 25,000-seater stadium and currently compete in the fifth division of Italian Soccer. The club has developed an aggressive project to achieve promotion to higher divisions and return to the Italian soccer limelight. Angelo was born in the town of Ururi, Molise, an hour from Campobasso. He immigrated to Montreal with his parents and brother when he was a few months old and identifies himself as a proud Montrealer, Molisano and Italian – Canadian. He is the Founder and President of SPG and has been in the real-estate field for the over 30 years, developing SPG into an important player in Montreal’s real estate development market. Angelo will be supported by his family on this project and is confident that SPG will be a strategic partner to North Sixth Group, with the aim of growing Campobasso 1919’s presence in the Canadian market. SPG is also sponsoring the club for the 2022-2023 season; the SPG logo features on the back of Campobasso 1919’s jerseys. “This investment is special to me, as when the opportunity presented itself after speaking with Matt, I knew that as an immigrant from the region I wanted to be part of this project.” said Angelo Pastò, “There are hundreds of thousands of Italian – Canadians with roots from Molise, and I believe this creates a significant market for Campobasso 1919 here in Canada.” continued Angelo “I am excited for the opportunity to partner with Matt on this project, and I look forward to giving back to the people of Campobasso while connecting with my fellow Italian – Canadians from my home region.”
