I am an assistant film producer based in Montreal and I am currently aiding in the production of a short film in a beautiful ‘borgo’ in the South of Italy (Santa Caterina dello Ionio). “Citta’ d’oro” is a modern adaptation of “The Hen and the golden egg” fable and it is directed by an Italian-Canadian director Francesco Giannini. Based here in Montreal. Francesco Giannini has directed a feature about a pandemic virus spread called ‘ HALL’ trailer :  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDnlC1zuejw&t=6s –scheduled to premiere this year, furthermore, Francesco is currently in development for two scripts, which were finalists in the Nicholl fellowships in Screenwriting competition at the Oscars.

We are very aware that these are difficult times for everyone, but the director would like to start production for Citta D’Oro towards the End of October as a way to support the local film industries in Canada & Italy, as well as somewhat supporting the economy that has suffered from the pandemic lockdown. I have attached a pitch deck with more info about the cast as well – we have two A-list actors already attached to the project: Claudia Gerini and Adriano Giannini for the leading role. Citta D’oro, having an international appeal, will be screened at multiple film festivals across the world, with the end goal being the Oscars.

We already have some funds in place from Canada and support from ENIT – the Italian Agency for Tourism (both Italy and Toronto), Consulate of Italy in Montreal, Region Calabria Tourism Dep., Calabria Film Commission, UnionCamere Calabria, Rai Cinema, PIAGGIO, Paoletti Guitars and the city of Santa Caterina dello Ionio… to name a few. We are working on potential collaborations in terms of product placement or monetary sponsorship, in exchange for visibility and/or commercial material from the product placement within the short film – something along the lines of George Clooney in the Nespresso campaign (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeQhtFS8KU0).
