Festa Basilicata 2018

1webThe Associazione Basilicata Vancouver celebrated their yearly tradition of a dinner dance, organized each year at IL CENTRO. On October 27th, more than 350 friends, family and members of the association gathered for the evening to host a dedication to past, present & future. Dressed from head to toe very elegant Mike Lombardi, president of the Association and councillor on the Board of the Italian Cultural Centre thanks everyone for keeping the tradition alive: The purpose of the Associazione Basilicata is to advance, maintain and strengthen the culture, customs, traditions and folklore between those born within Basilicata and resident in British Columbia and their descendants together with their immediate family members also resident in B.C. in order to pass these traditions down to future generations, so that they may identify with their Lucania/Basilicata origins.
As part of the Festa, Associazione Basilicata hosted award-winning the Lucano Woman World of the Year 2018 Rosistella Provinzano Vena, President, Gruppo Lucano. In addition, they have invited also Gruppo Lucano CEO and Chairman, Pasquale Vena. As you know the Gruppo Lucano produces the world-famous Amaro Lucano digestivo. Gruppo Lucano, now in its fourth generation, wants to be the world’s first spirits producer. Guided one more time by Pasquale Vena, the current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and grandson of the homonymous founder.
The Vena family continues to enlarge its business towards other countries and occasions for consumption with the same passion and dedication the company founder had. At the very beginning it was not easy for the company to export a product such as Amaro which was not well known outside Italy or Germany. Today the export rate of the company is considered to be around 15% of the turnover.
Their goal is to reach 30% of the turnover by 2018. After 5 years of specific operations on export, today Lucano is working in all the 5 continents with a focus on the USA, China and Germany.
This growth has been possible thanks to a network of trusted brand ambassadors : Bartenders and local export managers who know the different market trends and consumer tastes. declared Mike Lombardi during his presentation.
Congratulations to the members of the Associazione Basilicata Vancouver for hosting a wonderful event.
