Lidia’s Common Sense Italian Cooking

1Italian-American chef, Emmy Award winning television host, author and restaurateur Lidia Giuliana Matticchio Bastianich presented and lunch her new book Lidia’s Common Sense Italian Cooking at this exclusive reception at Il Centro. Lidia was joined in a panel discussion on Italian cuisine by local restaurateur Umberto Menghi and Barbara-Jo from Books to Cooks. Guests enjoyed fine Italian wine. Lidia was also available to autograph her latest publication throughout the reception. The evening was animated and include two arias from Puccini’s Tosca performed by the Vancouver Opera.
Lidia Giuliana Matticchio Bastianich born February 21, 1947) is an American celebrity chef, television host, author, and restaurateur. Specializing in Italian and Italian-American cuisine, Bastianich has been a regular contributor to public television cooking shows since 1998. In 2014, she launched her fifth television series, Lidia’s Kitchen. She owns several Italian restaurants in the U.S. in partnership with her daughter Tanya Bastianich Manuali and her son, Joe Bastianich, including Felidia (founded with her ex-husband, Felice), Del Posto, Esca, and Becco in Manhattan; Lidia’s Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Lidia’s Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri.
