Honda Celebration of Light Fireworks- First Day

Vancouver’s annual fireworks festival got started in English Bay at Saturday night with a display from team from Japan. Hundreds of thousands of people lined the beaches and packed onto boats to watch the Celebration of Light. They were treated to a stunning sunset before the show got started. Vancouver police said the crowd was well behaved, despite 80 alcohol pour-outs. One ticket was issued for smoking, which is not allowed on the beach.
Limited parking options
The other two teams for this year’s Celebration of Light are the UK on Aug. 2 and Canada on Aug. 5.
Festival organizers and city officials encourage anyone going to the area to take public transit, bike or walk as there will be limited parking on event nights.
The fireworks can also be seen from Second Beach, Kitsilano and Vanier Park.
