Italian restaurants raised in only two months over $9.500

By Brunella Gaudio Director of Italian Day Festival
After initital earthquakes in Italy’s Amatrice region, a group of Vancouver restaurants inspired by Apci Vancouver Canada and the Italian Day Festival Society were brought together to help raise funds for earthquake relief. For each #AMAtriciana dish sold at these participating restaurants, $2 would go back to Amatrice region – with one of the restaurants (La Piazza Dario Ristorante Italiano) actually contributing $5 of each #AMAtriciana dish.
This week, the Italian Day Festival Society received final bank drafts from participating restaurants and is pleased to share that a total of $9,500 was raised from September to mid-November!
Special mention goes to La Piazza Dario Ristorante Italiano who raised $4,760 of the $9,500, combined of dish sales and private donations. Bravi!
Much gratitude and thanks to all restaurants and respective patrons, who together in solidarity, and even if in the smallest way, will be helping our friends in Italy – especially after last week’s revived earthquakes and loss.
Italian Day Festival Society will be directing funds to the Mayor of Amatrice with a list of the respective restaurants, along with their bank drafts.
Thank you once again to all participating restaurants and Apci Vancouver Canada:
