Q. Who is Vincenzo D’Ovidio?
A. 1 A top realtor for over 30 years speaks Italian, Born in Abruzzo (Celano), raised in Canada. Past treasurer for the Circolo Abruzzese. Has a beautiful daughter and twin boys, loves socializing and meeting new people.

Q. What has been a key element of your success?
A. First honesty, Second hard work, third, be a people person

Q How important is passion in your life ?
A. I believe a life without passion is a life not lived. You need a Passion for, family and friends, your occupation, food and wine, travel and what you believe in.

Q. What motivates you to get up in the mornings?
A The Alarm Clock.

Q. What is the biggest mistake in your opinion that should be avoided when purchasing a
A. People don’t read the contract and documents when they buy. They spend more time buying a new pair of shoes than a house.

Q. If I wish to buy a property. How do I go about choosing the right agent?
A. Ask friends who they use and would they use them again? Bank manager and lawyer/notary because they won’t want the headache if they recommend a bad one.

Q. Why are your clients so loyal to you as an agent?
A. I put honesty first and money second it sounds like a cliché but it’s true. If you’re honest you’ll make the money anyway because they’ll use you over and over again.

Q. How important is branding in the context of real estate?
A. Branding is becoming more and more important because you have to stand out in the crowd. At one time it was put up a sign, put and add in the paper and an open house. That just won’t cut it anymore.

Q. With so many condos/homes being built in Vancouver and surroundings , how does one choose where and how to purchase?
A. First is what you can AFFORD. Second is always location. Get opinions, drive around, do research including city hall stats, friends and family will tell you too. Mention an area and peoples faced will tell you if it’s a good or bad area. A good rule to increase your value is try to buy a house that is least expensive in the best area because the area will keep your value up. If you buy the best house in a not so nice area you will be holding their value up.

Q. To wrap this up, what are you most excited about in the upcoming months in your business?
A. I look forward to there being more supply as the return to normalcy will bring lots of opportunities for buyers again.

Q. What are 1 or 2 things you would like to say to a prospective client who stumbles across this interview?
A. I have over 30 years of experience and achieved almost every award that our industry has. My past clients who are mostly Italian keep coming back to me for their real estate needs over and over again. I’ve helped bring 7 or 8 of my clients in to my business because I make a hard job look enjoyable and fulfilling. That’s a sign of a job well done.
