La Castagnata Banquet 2016

Associazione Culturale Calabrese Vancouver held their Annual dinner and dance La Castagnata Banquet on Saturday, November 12th at Il Centro Italian Cultural Centre returned to dazzle 500 distinguished guests with an unforgettable evening. This was a celebration with family and friends of personal and professional achievements this
past year. Christina Barbosa, Stephen Scaccia, Mariah Crudo, Ricky Fuoco and Marco Pepe kicked off the evening with a headline performance that had the guests singing along to the greatest hits. This annual dinner and dance, which featured an antipasto menu, full course meal and of course the famous chestnuts. An open bar, entertainment,
dancing, raffle, prizes and more everything was offered at the highest level.
Amazing entertainment by Gianni Fuoco Band, which kept the dance floor full all night! Our group preserves their Italian Heritage to promote the true Italian culture and to show what Vancouver has to offer to Italians those
words came from Domenico Vicari president of association who helped organize this great event.
La Castagnata Banquet were extremely honoured to have General Consul of Italy in Vancouver Massimiliano Iacchini and his wife Sara as the key note speaker, who really showed the members and guests the mastery of public speaking!
The Board of Associazione Culturale Calabrese Vancouver were happy to celebrate alongside the 2016 bursary recipients.
In addition to rewarding the students for their outstanding contributions to the community, this event allowed the recipients to learn of new ways to stay involved and continue to give back.
It gave them a platform to share what they have done and what their goals are for the future mentioned in his speech Domenico Vicari I am proud to host La Castagnata Banquet each year because of what it represents and who it supports. We are blessed to have our Italian-Canadian community has such a credible and solid role in our society said Luca Citton president of The Italian Cultural Centre.
Everyone came together to thank those individuals who tried their best to make sure their core Italian culture is not lost. It was a great night as many people expressed their appreciations and enjoyed a fun Italian night.
We hope to see more success with Associazione Culturale Calabrese Vancouver and also look forward to more
dinner and dances held! Overall this was a wonderful event, which generated support from the community, friends and family, we can’t wait to cover the next one.

Anche quest’anno 2016 l’Associazione Culturale Calabrese ha organizzato l’annuale banchetto e ballo all’insegna
delle castagne, tipico frutto autunnale delle colline e montagne calabresi.
Il presidente Domenico Vicari ed il suo comitato hanno ancora una volta sancito il successo delle precedenti edizioni, forse superandolo in numero di partecipanti. Tra gli intervenuti, ospiti d’onore quali il Console Generale
d’Italia a Vancouver, Massimiliano Iacchini, accompagnato dalla moglie Sara ed il Presidente del Centro Italiano Luca Citton. La cena, ottima e abbondante, si e’ susseguita tra deliziosi antipasti, primo, pollo cordon bleu e salsiccia, verdure, insalata, dolce, vino e dulcis in fundo, caldaroste (castagne cotte calde) e lupini. Nel corso della serata si sono esibiti alcuni cantanti di musica leggera e operistica.
A sorpresa si e’ esibito, durante lo shaw, anche Federico Fuoco. Il ballo si e’ aperto con la musica del bravo Gianni Fuoco e la sua orchestra. Tutti in pista tra musiche modern e tradizionali. La presenza di numerosi giovani
testimonia la capacita’ di aggregare e coinvolgere tre generazioni di Italiani oltre a far conoscere agli stranieri presenti alcune delle nostre piu’ significative tradizioni.
Ancora una volta i miei piu’ vivi complimenti all’Associazione Culturale Calabrese, capace di operare in rinnovamento mantenendo intatto lo spirito della tradizione.
